Child Protection (11th August 2005)

At Kilmardinny Nursery all children have the right to be protected.

If we suspect that there are grounds for concern the following action should be taken

1) Immediately report your concerns to co-ordinator Helen MacGibbon (0141 956 2891)
2) If Helen is unavailable report concerns to sub co-ordinator Ann Hutchison
3) Consider the immediate needs of all children involved
4) Gather information and if necessary seek clarification
5) Record any obvious signs of abuse, time, date and area/s affected
6) Ask staff to record all relevant information
7) All information must be confidential
8) Take emergency action if required by contacting Advice and Response Team (Cowgate, Kirkintilloch) Telephone No. 0141 775 1311
9) For additional support call Parentline, Scotland 0808 800 2222 or Care Commission: 0141 834 4290
10) Co-operate fully with statutory agencies who may become involved
11) Continue to assist in helping the child/children and family involved

Confidentiality: Kilmardinny Nursery has in place a policy on confidentiality. Any information given to staff will be confidential and will not be disclosed to others.
